How do I create a LinkedIn Page for a business?

Create the Page: what LinkedIn asks for

LinkedIn's help centre says a Page is free, that you need a personal LinkedIn account to create one, and that Pages can be created on desktop or in the iOS app but not on Android (checked 7 October 2026). You choose a Page type (Company, Showcase page or Educational institution), fill in the Page identity and details, and tick a box confirming you have the right to act for the organisation.

A Page is different from your profile: a profile is you as a person, a Page is the business. Customers and job seekers look at the Page to check the business is real, so finish it before you invite anyone.

  • Name and URL: the exact business name customers search for.
  • Logo and cover image: the same logo you use on your website and invoices.
  • Tagline and About: what you sell, to whom, and where you work.
  • Website and contact details that actually reach you.

Who should manage the Page?

Whoever creates the Page becomes its super admin. LinkedIn's help centre lists three Page admin roles: a super admin can do everything, including adding or removing admins, editing Page details, posting jobs and deactivating the Page; a content admin can create posts and events and boost posts; an analyst can only see the Analytics tab.

For a small business, a sensible setup is the owner plus one partner as super admins, and the person who writes the posts as a content admin. When someone leaves, remove their access the same week.

Run the Page week to week

LinkedIn says Page admins can use the Activity tab to see and reply to comments, mentions, reposts and reactions. Check it after each post and reply the same day. A simple rhythm is one post a week about your work (a project, a tip from your field, or a team update) and one reply session where you answer every comment.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a LinkedIn Page?

From a personal account, add a Page with the real business name, logo, and a description. Do not create a Page you do not represent.

Do I need a Page to get clients?

No. Many freelancers start with a profile. A Page is useful when people should follow the company.

What should the Page post?

Proof and updates a buyer would use. Do not leave it empty after you create it.

Who should be an admin?

More than one trusted person, so the Page is not trapped in one login.

Can a Page replace a website?

It should not. Platforms change. Link the Page to a site you control.

Does a Page help search?

It can help people find the name. Your own site is still the page you optimize for a full explanation.
